Growing up in Central Africa instilled in me a love and awe for the continent’s design aesthetic. The shapes, colours and textures speak a language of community and respect for the power and spirit of nature and the greater universe. These digital fabric textures are all made from scratch. First I researched traditional design symbols from various African countries and re-drew them by hand to make PS brushes, which I then used to create these tiles. I also made real fabric overlays to give natural texture. All the jpegs are 300dpi (varying in size between 800 and 1200px) and can be manually laid side by side vertically and horizontally to create large areas of pattern. The individual preview images give more details. Please comment and/or recommend if you buy and leave any suggestions for improvement.
